I feel like I am slowly making my way through all the primary colours! Last week was blue and today's is of course 'red' - timeless and bold it is a colour that is always in season and is always sure to make a statement!
I have also been obsessed with everything and anything embellished. I think it may have something to do with my complete and utter awe with the intricate Fabergé egg-inspired Balmain A/W 2012 collection that has been dominating the red carpet as well as the fashion world. Pearl embellishment, floral embroidery, gold thread work, and intricate quilting are incorporated in these elaborately hand-worked pieces.
I had posted a photo on my instagram of one of Balmain's black-and-white checked jackets alongside a dedication of my love and need for it, when a lovely follower informed me that Sportsgirl was in the midst of releasing something very similar. Of course, I jumped online immediately to have a peek and completely fell for it! My size was sold out online so I quickly reached for the phone - they weren't even available in store yet! After calling round to a few stores and finally pleading with the lovely store staff at Broadway Mall they promised to set it aside for me as soon as they arrived. It was mine! mine! mine! [Insert evil laugh here].
To emphasise the lovely red rose embroidery on the arms I paired it with this red bodycon dress from ASOS and tried to keep the accessories simple with this Bardot gold chain necklace and Peeptoe ring. There was no way I could not use my ever-so-darling Love Moschino love-heart clutch which adds that extra romantic element!
